Position: FSQA Co-op Student (Summer 2026)

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Co-op Student to join our Food Safety and Supplier Quality Assurance team this Summer term. If you're ready to dive into a sea of opportunities and tackle a hands‑on experience in food safety and quality assurance, this role is for you!

With a focus on ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality, the position is ideal for students in their 3rd or 4th year of university or college, or those who have recently graduated. You will have the chance to work on diverse projects, collaborate with internal business partners, and support various food safety and quality assurance initiatives, ensuring you gain valuable skills and experience while working in a fast‑paced and innovative environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Food Safety:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of food safety programs and protocols.
    • Conduct food safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Monitor and document food safety practices and procedures.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Support in the implementation of an enterprise supplier compliance portal.
    • Assist in the compliance preparation for the new FSMA 204 Rule on Requirements for Additional Traceability Records for Certain Foods.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality documentation.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze data related to food safety and quality.
    • Prepare reports and presentations on food safety and quality metrics.
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement based on data analysis.
  • Training and

    Education:

    • Develop and deliver training materials on food safety and quality assurance practices.
    • Provide support and guidance to employees on food safety protocols.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety and quality.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a food science, microbiology, or related degree program.
    • Experience working in or with food safety and quality assurance is preferred.
    • Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for food safety and quality assurance.
    • Previous internship or work experience in food safety, quality assurance, or related field.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
    • Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, FSMA).
    • Experience with quality management systems and auditing processes is considered a plus.
  • Communication and Interpersonal

    Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and present information clearly.
    • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
    • Highly collaborative and creative team player with proven relationship‑building and influencing skills.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
