Safety Manager (Water Treatment Plant Construction Project)
Location: Portsmouth, OH
Duration: 9 Months (Start: ASAP)
Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation & ScheduleLocal Pay: $50-$55/hr
Traveler Pay: $47-$49/hr + $125/Day Per Diem
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 50-60 Hours Per Week
Additional Schedule Details: Long-term infrastructure project supporting both new construction and demolition operations within an active water treatment environment.

The Safety Manager will provide field leadership for a growing workforce that currently includes 20-30 self-perform craft employees along with approximately 20 subcontractors supporting multiple active scopes of work.
Required Qualifications- OSHA 30 Certification
- Construction Safety Management Experience
- Ability to Manage Multiple Contractors and Trades
- Experience Conducting Safety Audits, Inspections, and Hazard Assessments
- Strong Knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
- Ability to Communicate Effectively with Craft Workers, Supervision, and Project Management Teams
- Experience Working on Active Construction Projects with Multiple Concurrent Work Activities
- Concrete Construction Experience
- Underground Pipe Installation Experience
- Water/Wastewater Facility Experience
- Heavy Civil Construction Experience
- Excavation and Utility Construction Safety Experience
- Experience Supporting River or Marine Adjacent Work Activities
- Provide daily field safety oversight for water treatment plant construction activities
- Support demolition operations associated with the existing facility
- Monitor major concrete construction activities and associated work crews
- Oversee safety compliance for underground pipe installation and utility work
- Conduct site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard recognition activities
- Partner with project supervision and subcontractors to address safety concerns and corrective actions
- Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with project safety expectations
- Maintain required project safety documentation and reporting
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all project personnel

Success in this role requires maintaining a visible field presence, building strong relationships with craft personnel and subcontractors, proactively identifying hazards, driving accountability, and ensuring all construction and demolition activities are completed safely and efficiently.
