Department: Urology Associates
Shift/schedule: Part Time (24 hrs/wk)
GENERAL SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Office Manager, Operations Manager, Office Supervisor, and/or Family Health Center Manager. The Medical Office LPN's primary job function is to provide assistance to the provider with patient exams and/or procedures. Collects vitals, chief complaints, pain assessment, and documents past medical history. Phones and/or e-prescribes prescriptions to pharmacies, make referrals, operates medical equipment, and performs patient education.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required
Licensure:
- Licensed to practice as an LPN (applicable to state) required
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
Experience:
- One to three months experience preferred

Skills:
- Ability to develop positive interactions with patient, patients' families, coworkers, and providers in order to effectively care for the patients.
- Copying, calibrating equipment, speaking clearly, answering telephones, fine dexterity, precise manipulations, keyboarding, handling and gripping.

Physical Requirements:
- Carrying/lifting/transferring (Occasionally lifts in excess of 100 pounds and frequently carries 50 pounds when lifting and transporting patients), pushing/pulling, communicating, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, holding, ambulating, walking, and restraining.
- Calculating, interpreting numbers, analyzing, assessing, evaluating, explaining, teaching, attention to detail, memory, and reasoning.
Essential Sensory Requirements:
- Seeing, hearing, feeling, and verbalizing.
Exposure to Hazards:
- Fumes/odors, potentially dangerous equipment, toxic materials, body fluids/blood/tissue, and exposure to or use of sharps.
