Description General SummaryWorks under the supervision of the Lead Switchboard Operator and Telecommunications Manager. The Switchboard Operator's primary job function is to operate a switchboard console, directing calls to and from the appropriate staff and/or departments. The Switchboard Operators also handle both inside and outside codes by notifying the appropriate staff using tools such as overhead paging and the mass notification application. The Switchboard Operators provide Answering Services for SOMC's Physician based practices and various other departments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation:
- High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
Licensure:
- None
Experience:
- Experience working with the public preferred.
