This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast‑tracking” into a Store Management position. A minimum of 1 year retail management experience is required.

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience. The trainee is accountable for day‑to‑day store operations, promoting a positive/productive environment, partnering with the Store Manager to lead and develop employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations/Satisfaction. The role also analyses store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met, commits to the company’s asset protection program, promotes the business, and targets new customer acquisitions.
The trainee works with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.
The position offers an hourly wage, plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities of a Store Management Trainee are:- Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and promptly addressing customer issues.
- Monitor and assist in the training of pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company‑prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers, merchandise, and ensuring all procedures are followed for asset protection.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
- Administer processes and procedures within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
- Evaluate the store’s financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal‑setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development as requested.
- Communicate clearly with employees to ensure they understand the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
- Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
