Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for an Engineer or Scientist at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI. The role involves research and development, systems engineering, testing, and evaluation activities for undersea systems and technologies. Responsibilities include analyzing technical data, developing innovative solutions for challenges in undersea warfare, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the advancement of undersea warfare capabilities.
The candidate will ensure the integration of emerging technologies to meet critical mission objectives.
- Experience in Research & Development and data analysis
- Proficiency in Systems Engineering and problem-solving
- Technical expertise in engineering principles, underwater systems, or related fields
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across diverse teams
- Ability to apply innovative solutions to complex undersea challenges
- Security clearance eligibility or ability to obtain one
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus
- Experience in defense, undersea warfare, or related industries is an advantage
