This is an onsite role and can be located in Woburn, Tewksbury, Marlborough, Andover or Portsmouth RI.
What You Will Do- Execute the safety strategy for the program to meet all its milestones with system safety/HSI features integrated into the product in compliance with contract and awarded funding
- Support the program schedule and integrated system safety tasks and activities into program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Engage the Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead for guidance on technical execution, artifact review, attending customer reviews, etc.
- Support multi-IPT program meetings to ensure that system safety items are considered and to understand current program-wide issues
- Ensure program leadership understands system safety requirements, hazards, and planned mitigations
- Meet internal and external commitments (deliveries)
- Own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to realize the solution that makes the overall product development and test successful
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with risk assessment concepts
- Experience with creating technical reports, technical writing and/or creating presentations
- Active/transferable DoD security clearance
- Experience with test equipment & test equipment safety, in a laboratory setting
- Experience performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400)
- Experience reviewing software code and requirements for safety considerations
- Experience interfacing with other engineering functions:
Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering
