Role:
Principal Mechanical Design Engineer
- Develop innovative technical solutions to complex challenges across the product lifecycle, including proposal, advanced development, design, cooling, manufacturing, integration, and testing of radars, support equipment, and electronics for military programs.
- Perform tolerance analyses to ensure form, fit, and function meet design intent.
- Lead small teams using mechanical hardware design experience, addressing ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, electronics packaging, tooling, and array integration.
- Provide support for product integration in domestic and international factories and supplier locations to assess requirements compliance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—engineering disciplines, operations, supply chain, quality, and external suppliers—to resolve technical challenges and develop effective design solutions.
- Manage tasks independently, delivering on schedule, budget, and technical goals.
- Participate in design reviews and conduct trade studies to support informed engineering decisions.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers, contributing to team development and technical growth.
- U.S. citizenship required for eligible security clearance.
- DoD Secret security clearance (active and existing after day one).
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
- Experience creating, reviewing, and interpreting technical documentation for hardware or tooling products.
- Mechanical design experience in advanced development or production environments.
- Experience developing, releasing, and updating engineering drawings using a 3D CAD design tool.
- Proficiency with configuration and data management environments.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Detail‑oriented, able to work effectively within cross‑functional teams.
- Familiarity with military and/or commercial specifications and requirements.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Advanced degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace hardware systems design (preferred).
- Proven mechanical design ability in a production or advanced development environment.
- Experience with electronics packaging, power distribution, cooling, RF, or tooling products.
- Experience creating technical data packages and processing change notices with communication of functional and performance requirements.
- Experience using CREO CAD design and documentation tools or equivalent 3D solid modeling software.
- Experience with cost and/or schedule reporting or proposal development.
- Experience with military and/or commercial specifications and requirements.
- Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD based on experience.

Salary range provided is an estimate representative of all experience levels. Bonus and incentive plans are subject to business and individual performance. The position is U.S. based; pay structure and benefits may differ for U.S. territories.
