HVAC Technician
Under general supervision install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. To include troubleshooting system issues, replacing faulty components, and ensuring that systems are operating efficiently and safely. HVAC technicians must perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning (replacing filters & washing coils), as well as testing system performance and functionality. Must be knowledgeable about electrical systems, building control systems, refrigeration systems (direct and indirect expansion), as well as be able to read blueprints and schematics.

*** 1st shift - 6:30am – 3:00pm - Portsmouth, RI. This position is an onsite role.
What you will do:
- Install HVAC Systems according to specifications and local codes
- Test and troubleshoot HVAC systems to diagnose and repair problems
- Replace faulty parts and components as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure proper installation and repair of HVAC systems
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, such as multimeters, refrigerant recovery machines, and vacuum pumps
- Communicate with clients to explain technical issues and recommend solutions
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in HVAC systems and technology
Qualifications You Must Have:
- High School Diploma, Equivalency (GED)
- Current Refrigeration Journeyperson II {RJ2}
- Current EPA Universal Certification per CFR part 82 subpart F
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement. Wage and workplace conditions, including shift times, are subject to this agreement. Individuals hired into this position will be represented by a union. Clearance Information:
This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website.
