St Paul's Nursery is seeking an experienced level 3 or above Nursery Nurse to join our highly skilled team. Our recent OFSTED graded GOOD (January 2024) states, “In early years, shared understanding of key learning points is secure across the staff, which means children learn well.” We have strong links with St Paul’s Catholic Primary School and support the Catholic Ethos within our Nursery.

JOB PURPOSETo work as part of a team to support and assist children’s play and learning in a child-centred environment whilst maintaining high standards of childcare and good behaviour. Ensuring a commitment to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children to ensure children are safe and secure.
KEYACCOUNTABILITIES

- To fully comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the School’s Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
- To participate in Employee Development schemes and Performance Management and contribute to the identification of own team development needs.
- At the discretion of the Head Teacher, such other activities as may from time to time be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above.
- To be responsible for all round care of children 2-4 yrs, and plan and implement activities to support children’s development covering the EYFS development matter, seven areas of learning.
- To support children with SEND on a 1:1 basis, when needed.
- To communicate effectively and work in partnership with parents and other professionals and to respect confidentiality when appropriate. Carry out regular parent meetings with parents to discuss their child’s development.
- To take on the role of key worker to a group of children and to maintain accurate developmental records. Plan and carry out age-appropriate activities, ensuring children are on track. Complete reports on the child’s development and next steps to share with Parents.
- To attend staff meetings and training sessions as and when required.
- To work within all nursery policies and procedures including administration and recording of first aid.
- To ensure nursery environment and resources are safe and clean in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- At the discretion of the Nursery Manager / Early Years Lead / Head teacher, such other activities as may from time to time be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above.
- Key worker with responsibility for a toddler or pre-school group.
