Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Location: UK Ports, including Scotland, South Coast, South East and wider UK locations
Job Type: Permanent
Human Engineering is speaking with experienced Crane Engineers who would be interested in current and upcoming opportunities across UK port environments.
We are looking for engineers with experience working on port cranes, harbour cranes, ship-to-shore cranes, RTGs, RMGs, mobile harbour cranes or similar heavy lifting equipment.
The port crane sector is a small market, so we are interested in speaking with engineers across the UK who may be open to a stronger package, better training, improved overtime, less restrictive rota patterns or a move into a more specialist crane environment.
The role involves:
- Service, maintenance and repair of port crane equipment
- Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and PLC/control systems
- Working on large-scale lifting equipment in live port environments
- Planned maintenance, breakdown response and inspection work
- Supporting commissioning, upgrades or refurbishment work depending on experience
- Completing service reports, technical paperwork and safety documentation
We would like to speak with candidates from backgrounds such as:
- Heavy Plant Engineer with port experience
- Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer from a port environment
Experience with equipment such as STS cranes, RTGs, RMGs, harbour mobile cranes, ship unloaders, Gottwald, Liebherr, Konecranes, Kalmar, ZPMC or similar heavy lifting equipment would be highly relevant.
This is a strong opportunity for engineers who want to work on complex, high-value crane systems rather than standard plant or industrial equipment.
What is on offer:
- Permanent opportunities across UK port locations
- Strong earning potential with overtime
- Work on high-value port equipment
- Confidential discussion before any details are shared
ONLY APPLICANTS WITH CURRENT ELIGIBILITY TO WORK IN THE UK NEED APPLY AS NO SPONSORSHIP IS ON OFFER FOR THIS ROLE.
