Utilize your specialized skills to bridge communication for students and staff, fostering greater inclusion and learning opportunities. Candidates should hold a VQAS Level 2 or higher certification, unless presenting an EIPA score of 3.5 or above.
Qualifications &Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Valid certification: VQAS Level 2 or higher, OR EIPA score of 3.5 or above
- Experience in educational settings, particularly K-12 environments, is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students
- Flexibility to adapt to varying classroom and student needs
- Professionalism, reliability, and a passion for supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Provide interpreting services in classrooms and throughout the school day
- Support communication for students using ASL with staff, teachers, and peers
- Assist with academic assignments and facilitate classroom participation
- Collaborate with educational teams to create an inclusive environment
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school and ethical standards
- Adapt interpreting methods as needed for different age groups and subject matters
