Engineering Technician

Duties

You will exercise technical responsibilities for nondestructive testing projects: performing inspections and evaluating specific nonstandard NDT inspections.

You will provide technical guidance and support to other NOT examiners and other Shipyard personnel, NAVSEA, and contractors, in the use and application of nuclear and nonnuclear NDT procedures.

You will investigate nuclear and non-nuclear NDT applications for new/changed test requirements and design of new/changed NDT procedures and methods.

You will represent the Shipyard for all matters related to nuclear and non-nuclear NDT projects in categories such as eddy current, ultrasonic, radiography, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual.

You will plan work to be accomplished, determining appropriate work methods and procedures and supporting technical documents.

You will be responsible for the correct interpretation, procedure development and approval of nuclear and non-nuclear non-destructive test procedures and training required by NAVSEA directives.
