Engineering Project Manager
Under general supervision, provides research for various engineering projects and assignments, and serves as a project manager for small projects as directed. Reports to Director of Engineering.
Conducts engineering investigations and field studies for analysis of patterns, condition assessment and research data; conducts or assists in preliminary reviews of projects and site specifications to ensure compliance with prescribed standards; conducts onsite meetings with outside agencies and contractors; provides project summaries based on research performed; projects scope of work, prepares plans, and projects estimates for construction projects.
Provides assistance with the contract administration of projects, processing of proposals, contract bids and project change orders; schedules requests, ensures proper documentation, and gathers required information for final payment to contractors; provides initial review for estimates, payments, etc. for projects.
Prepares, approves, evaluates and maintains engineering reports and other information, such as project specifications, and project invoices and proposals; conducts designated engineering studies; provides assistance to divisional personnel and the general public by providing information upon request; investigates and responds to inquiries and concerns from contractors, staff, the general public and other organizational agencies.
Performs other related work as required. Individual assignments will be determined by supervisor based on current workload and department needs.
Has general knowledge of the principles, regulations/codes and methodologies of inspecting construction projects. Is able to inspect projects in progress and determine compliance with specifications, code and plans. Is able to understand and interpret oral and written instructions. Is able to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
Requires an associate's degree in engineering, and 1-2 years of engineering experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
