Gather and analyze financial data to estimate and allocate costs for a current or proposed projects.
- Gathers details and compiles data to estimate all production costs according to specifications
- Reviews blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to formulate cost estimates
- Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation for estimates
- Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints
- Reviews estimates as requested and analyzes established standards for cost reductions
- Reviews and analyzes existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials; identifies cost-reduction opportunities.
- Prepares reports forecasting production scenarios; makes recommendations based on findings.
- Provides training/guidance to less experienced Estimators
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Gathers details and compiles data to estimate all production costs according to specifications
- Reviews blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to formulate cost estimates
- Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation for estimates
- Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints
- Reviews estimates as requested and analyzes established standards for cost reductions
- Reviews and analyzes existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials; identifies cost-reduction opportunities.
- Prepares reports forecasting production scenarios; makes recommendations based on findings.
- Provides training/guidance to less experienced Estimators
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry
- Knowledge of production management, logistics, and supply chain concepts and methodologies
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience estimating in Martime industry
Physical Requirements
- Work is mostly conducted indoors in an office or remote environment
- Minimal exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk; must be able to view computer screen for prolonged periods of time; must be able to enter data using keyboard accurately and efficiently
- Must be able to communicate effectively via phone or email with personnel at remote job sites
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 15 pounds infrequently
- Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead
- May be required to climb stairs or ladders
