Job Summary

Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and team members. Responsible for all results from day to day operations. To ensure the guests are all treated with the highest regard and leave after having the most pleasant experience by a fully trained team member. The Assistant Manager will lead a team to promote coffee consumption by educating the guests;

preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies as well as promotional items.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Yes. Will supervise Baristas and Supervisors.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job. To include, but not limited to preparing and/or serving hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, teas and other specialty beverages
  • Continuously fosters great relationships with team members in all areas and mentors others to do the same.
  • Fosters a solid relationship with members of the Starbucks management team.
  • Ensures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests, supervisors, and team members.
  • Sets standards by being cooperative, helpful and friendly, and by presenting a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
  • Ensures proper staffing for forecasted volume and budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Monitors inventories and reports discrepancies to the Manager and/or the Director of Food & Beverage and/or Department Analyst.(Admin)
  • Holds periodic meetings with Supervisors and with team members.
  • Meets budgeted figures for labor and other expenses.
  • Notifies team members of changes in policy and procedure.
  • Must work closely with Department Trainer to ensure all new hires are trained to both Rivers and Starbucks standards.
  • Communicates any problems or concerns to the Manager and/or Director and other departments as needed.
  • Works with all departments to ensure proper communication.
  • Participates and/or leads in departmental meetings as required.
  • Maintains files in such a way that another supervisor could perform efficiently in the event of his/her absence.
  • Promotes the Casino through good will and positive attitude.
  • Maintains high sanitation and safety standards.
  • Maintains security of products and areas assigned to the department.
  • Sets high standards by complying with all departmental rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures that all Team Members are treated in a fair and consistent manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Minimum 3 years as supervisor or above
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations
  • Gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).
  • Ability to obtain a Food Manager's Certificate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the business drivers in the industry.
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders.
  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work while standing for hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke , and dust .
