Position: GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will maintain and regularly communicate detailed material status summaries to appropriate management personnel.
* You will initiate restocking orders, monitor compliance with orders, and specify storage points for delivery, and conduct inventory and catalog searches while assisting customers by recommending alternate items.
* You will resolve issues involving conflicting program requirements; and/or review the current supply department programs for adequacy, efficiency, and need for improvement. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience demonstrating knowledge of specific DOD and Navy Supply chain operations, organizations, relationships, and responsibilities;
* Experience applying core material and supply principles as well as shipyard specific (Navy, DLA, DOD) supply chain and material policies, procedures, and regulations with demonstrated ability to interpret/translate same.
* Experience in material management program planning at the shipyard level, and skill in developing and/or implementing procedures and practices to efficiently support use of material.
* Experience independently analyzing and resolving difficult issues involving material management processes, work methods, supply data management, and/or day-to-day industrial supply chain operations.
* Experience providing collaborative/technical advice and guidance to supply depots or activity distribution centers concerning distribution and storage operations or related operating requirements.
* Experience utilizing advanced skill and experience in all aspects of project management (including but not limited to resource management, budget, schedule, and performance). GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience applying supply operations and/or general supply program management.
* Experience demonstrating practical application and knowledge of core material and supply principles as well as shipyard specific (Navy, DLA, DOD) supply chain and material policies, procedures, and regulations with ability to interpret/translate same.
* Experience demonstrating material management program planning at the shipyard level, and skill in developing and/or implementing procedures and practices to efficiently support use of material.
