Duties
- You will troubleshoot to prevent loss of product with short duration curing times.
- You will use pumps and spray equipment such as conventional, airless, air assisted airless, high volume low pressure, electrostatic, electrostatic powder, and plasma powder application.
- You will read, interpret and correctly follow complex written instructions, drawings, specifications, engineering standards, and manufactures' requirements.
- You will plan, organize, coordinate and implement numerous quality-related issues and elements as they relate to the requirements and documentation of critical coated areas.
- You will blast and produce a surface profile ready for coating and build up, fair, shape and level using a variety of knifing and troweling compounds.
Requirements Conditions of employment

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to lift/carry up to 60lbs.
- You will be required to climb ladders and scaffolding.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

- Experience demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of and experience with principles, techniques, and practices of surface preparation and critical coating application.
- Experience performing accepted surface preparation, coating methods, and techniques such as mixing and application of modem exotic paints and coatings.
- Experience demonstrating skills to blast and produce a surface profile ready for coating.
- Experience applying knowledge of all accepted surface preparation, coating methods, and techniques such as mixing and application of modern exotic paints and coatings.
- Experience coating materials and matching tint and tone have required skill to apply paints at required mil thicknesses.
- Experience understanding trade terms and knowing trade measurements of critical coatings.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and correctly following complex instructions, drawing, specifications, engineering standard, and manufactures' requirements.
