Our client, an industry leader in industrial and shipyard services, is seeking a Outside Machinist (Day & Night Shift) to join their team. As a Outside Machinist (Day & Night Shift), you will be part of the technical operations supporting maintenance and repair projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Outside Machinist (Day & Night Shift)
Location: Portsmouth, VA
Pay Range: $18 up depending on experience
What's the Job?
- Transport, set up, and operate portable machining equipment and tooling.
- Perform machining operations using portable mills, lathes, line boring equipment, grinding systems, and other tools.
- Take precise measurements using specialized measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate work activities with customers and on-site representatives, ensuring safety and efficiency.
What's Needed?
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 3 years of machining, mechanical, or related industrial experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience using precision measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
