Registered Nurse (RN) – Full Time
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7‑17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities.
It is licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. It is a TRICARE‑approved and certified facility.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of nursing care in an assigned unit for residents ages 7‑17. The RN adheres to nursing standards and policies, facility policies and procedures, the Nurse Practice Act, and maintains patient safety.

- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
- Must be licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a registered nurse or have a multi‑state license
- Prefer experience with children and adolescents in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program. New nurses will be considered.
- Demonstrates knowledge of risk factors for violence and ability to assess violent behavior, suicidal or homicidal ideations
- Good verbal and written skills; ability to rotate shifts and programs as necessary; ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
