AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a skilled Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide outpatient OB/GYN care at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth
. The CNM will see patients for prenatal visits, postpartum assessments, gynecological exams, family planning consultations, and women’s health screenings. This role is focused strictly on outpatient services
, with no labor or delivery coverage, and involves close collaboration with OB/GYN physicians, nurses, and support staff.

• Perform comprehensive health assessments and physical exams
• Provide routine prenatal and postpartum care
• Conduct gynecological exams (pap smears, breast exams, etc.)
• Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception, and preventive care
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs
• Prescribe medications in accordance with state scope of practice
• Refer patients to OB/GYN physicians or specialists when necessary
• Counsel patients and families on birth control, pregnancy, and women’s health
• Float to other OB/GYN outpatient services as needed

Degree:

• Master’s degree or higher in nursing or midwifery

Education:

• Graduate from a CNM program accredited by ACME or similar body

Certification:

• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) credential from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) required only either from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Experience:

• Minimum one year of recent CNM or women’s health experience
  in an outpatient OB/GYN setting

Licensure:

• Current, unrestricted RN license and Nurse Midwife license valid in any U.S. state or territory

• Services shall be provided Sunday through Saturday between 0600 and 0600. It says typical shifts are 18. 45 PM to 0715 AM or 0645 to 1915 Sunday through Saturday
• Can work Up to 40 hours per week

• Clinic-based OB/GYN care at NMCP
• Collaborative team setting with physicians, nurses, and support staff
• May float between different outpatient women’s health areas as needed

• Required vaccinations: MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDAP, Flu
• TB screening required
• Must complete NAVMED 6260/91 or DHA equivalent

• Must pass background investigation and credentialing
• Onboarding may take up to 90 days
