Materials Handler III (Quality)
Duration: 6 months, with possible extension
Schedule:
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Work Location:
Portsmouth, Virginia 23704, USA
Perform a wide variety of activities to support the Quality Management System, including:
- Perform routine quality control audits to ensure procedural compliance
- Perform daily verification of picking activities
- Report daily service issues to teams during morning Tier meetings
- Analyze and report service issue trends
- Provide real-time feedback and error correction to prevent issues before they escalate
- Remove damaged product from pickable locations
- Conduct spot-check inspections/audits of production operations
- Participate in the internal audit program
- Assist, as needed, with the Document Control program and with record and sample retention areas
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

- Ability to follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of warehouse operations experience
Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before small groups of employees within the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Skills Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook required. Experience with SAGE or Great Plains ERP preferred.

Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow procedures and accurately document results
- Understanding of Company product distribution processes and the ability to recognize deviations from approved, documented procedures
- Strong attention to detail
