Position: INSTRUMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will supervise and oversee the work and performance of lower-level employees.
* You will plan the sequence of operations.
* You will provide training to lower-level employees.
* You will maintain records and/or furnish information regarding such matters as daily distribution to the force.
* You will perform a wide range of personnel management matters.
* You will supervise instrument mechanics assigned to perform work in various calibration lab work sites as well as work sites aboard vessels and other specified work areas. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE.
* Ability to lead a team in applying advanced analytical and problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex operational deficiencies in instrumentation and control systems.
* Ability to plan, assign, and review the work of subordinate mechanics, ensuring that technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings are correctly interpreted and applied for accurate testing and calibration.
* Ability to oversee and validate complex mathematical computations and technical calculations performed by the team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of test data and results.
* Ability to manage the preparation and approval of comprehensive technical documentation, including ensuring all team reports and certificates of calibration comply with organizational and industry standards.
* Ability to communicate technical, administrative, and personnel-related information effectively to subordinates, management, engineers, and customers to coordinate work, resolve complex issues, and represent the team.
