Position: HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will demonstrate proper work methods and provide on the job training for workers.
* You will ensure safe work practices and good housekeeping while assuring timely tool, equipment, material, and procedure availability.
* You will keep the first line supervisor informed of job progress and job performance.
* You will ensure proper inter-trade and inter-shop coordination with timely yet orderly job completion. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to lift or carry weights up to 45 pounds.
* You will need to operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and hand trucks to handle heavier material and equipment.
* Incumbent must have physical capabilities for working inside and outside in excessive heat, cold, humidity, dampness, or chilling weather conditions.
* May be required to work on slippery or uneven surfaces that can be found at or in transit, to or from worksites.
* May be required to work from ladders and platforms, work in awkward and uncomfortable positions, and enter accesses 18" in diameter.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* Incumbent is subject to many hazards including but not limited to operating and working around machinery and moving parts, working around moving objects, elevations, electricity, sharp edges, and being in close or confined spaces.
* Subject to medical surveillance programs and periodic medical examinations.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
