Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a manufacturing organization in Post Falls, Idaho, through a long-term contract assignment. This role will manage the full AP cycle, maintain accurate vendor records, support timely payments, and contribute to process improvements across the accounting function.

Responsibilities

+ Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoice intake, coding, three-way matching, approvals and payment processing.

+ Prepare recurring payments by check, ACH and wire transfer while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

+ Respond to vendor inquiries, resolve discrepancies and reconcile vendor statements.

+ Process employee expense reports and reimbursements in accordance with company policies.

+ Monitor accounts payable aging and reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger.

+ Maintain vendor documentation, including W-9 forms and records supporting annual 1099 reporting.

+ Assist with month-end close, audit requests, fixed assets, prepaid expenses and other accounting projects.

+ Partner with internal teams to improve invoice workflows, approval processes and AP automation.

+ Document procedures, track key AP metrics and support updates to policies or systems.

+ Take on additional general ledger responsibilities as business needs evolve.

Requirements

Hands-on experience managing accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding and payment execution.

Working knowledge of three-way matching, AP aging, account reconciliation and general ledger processes.

Experience processing payments through checks, ACH and wire transfers.

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve vendor questions professionally.

Familiarity with expense reimbursements, W-9 requirements and 1099-related documentation.

Ability to identify process improvements and adapt to new systems or automation tools.

Strong attention to detail, organization and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Manufacturing or other high-volume, inventory-based industry experience is preferred.
