The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a 0.5 FTE Permanent Part-time Program Assistant in the IPAC/h Protection division.

Reporting to the Manager of Infectious Disease, the Program Assistant provides various clerical services supporting Public Health programs. Working in a fast-paced team environment, the Program Assistant provides administrative support, including data entry, meeting minutes, preparation of program resources, and management of health records. The role requires strong communication, organizational, customer service, and telephone skills, including reception duties and liaison with referring agencies.

Experience with large databases and electronic medical records is an asset. Working collaboratively with another Program Assistant, the position ensures daily program coverage and provides vacation coverage for other programs as required under the CUPE collective agreement. In a multidisciplinary setting, the Program Assistant supports the daily operations and delivery of services while maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion.
