Summary
Oregon Trail Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate 5th Grade Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and personal growth among students. This full-time position requires a commitment to academic excellence, collaboration with colleagues, and active participation in the school community.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, assignments, and observations.
- Provide individualized support and enrichment opportunities for students to ensure all learners can succeed.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and parents to support student learning and address any concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance and academic performance.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Organize and participate in school events, including parent-teacher conferences, open houses, and extracurricular activities.
- Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive school culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and resilience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Valid teaching license with an endorsement in elementary education.
- Experience teaching 5th grade or a similar age group is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that respects and values diversity.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration with the school community.
