Position: Travel Sign Language Interpreter in Post Falls, ID
A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide essential communication support in educational settings, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This role involves travel to various schools, offering an engaging opportunity for interpreters who enjoy dynamic work environments and helping students succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction and school events.
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff.
  • Ensure the accuracy and clarity of educational content for deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to support students' learning needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Travel to assigned schools within the Post Falls,  and potentially surrounding locations.
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills.
  • Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred.
  • Understanding of educational terminology and classroom protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage travel assignments reliably and independently.
  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter is highly desirable.
Location:
  • Assignments primarily based in schools around Post Falls, Idaho, with travel to multiple sites.
