Role Description

The Biology & General Science Teacher will design and deliver engaging biology lessons (9th grade) and General Science lessons (7th & 8th grades) aligned with our classical education model and state standards, fostering critical thinking and scientific literacy in students. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and teaching lessons, preparing and engaging students in lab activities, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance.

The teacher will collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning, communicate regularly with families about student progress, and contribute to a positive, respectful classroom environment. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Post Falls, , requiring active participation in school events, meetings, and professional development.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong subject-matter expertise in Biology and a solid understanding of related physical and earth sciences.
  • Candidates should be a Qualified Teacher with appropriate state licensure or eligibility by possessing a related science degree.
  • Candidates should possess effective Lesson Planning abilities aligned with curriculum standards and classical education principles.
  • Candidates should possess a strong drive and interest in developing a hands-on science program.
  • Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills for interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a closely related field; advanced degree is beneficial.
  • Experience teaching middle or high school biology, including laboratory instruction and classroom management.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and creating a supportive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the growth of a new school community.
