Mine Engineer II

Position Overview

As a Senior Mining Engineer, you will support Kiewit Mining operations throughout North America. This position is responsible for overseeing the development of short‑range plans, work packages, long‑range planning and estimating, developing annual budgets, design work, training and mentoring Field Engineers, and overall support of our mining and construction teams. Additionally, this role will manage special projects and collaborate with other departments across the project site as required.

• Support and implement short‑range and long‑range mine planning operations for active mines, mine infrastructure projects and other heavy‑civil projects.
• Track costs and develop annual and life‑of‑mine budgets.
• Manage special projects.
• Design, develop work plans and costs to support projects for mining activities.
• Manage and supervise employees performing this work.
• Train and support Field Engineers new to the company and projects we support.
• Perform estimates for new contract opportunities.

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mining, Civil, Geological, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other natural science engineering fields.
• 3+ years of experience.
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
• Mining or Mining Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience is preferred.
• Ability to freely access all points of a project site in varying climates and environments, including climbing off and on equipment.
• Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence and initiative.
