Position: SCHEDULING COORDINATOR - NORTHWEST HAND TO SHOULDER CENTER

Overview

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-focused Scheduler to join our Northwest Hand to Shoulder Team. The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling appointments for patients, managing assigned providers  schedules, verifying demographic and insurance information for patients, and ensuring that proper records and documentation are in place for appointments. Maintain accurate records associated with scheduling and processing of patient documentation.

Provides excellent customer service to callers on a multi-line phone system, returns voicemails in a timely manner, and maintains confidentiality of patients and staff. This position requires excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to work under stress with patience and tact, and a professional demeanor and appearance. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments for patients and manage provider schedules.
  • Verify demographic and insurance information for patients.
  • Ensure proper records and documentation are in place for appointments; maintain accurate scheduling records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to callers on a multi-line phone system; return voicemails promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients, coworkers, and Northwest Specialty Hospital.
  • Support a professional environment and assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And

Preferred Experience
  • High school diploma required.
  • One year of prior clerical experience in a medical setting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build relationships with physicians or their support staff.
  • Knowledge of insurer and payer processes.
  • CPR/BLS or obtained within first ninety days of hire.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes and medical terminology preferred.
  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States.
  • Three years of medical office experience preferred.
