Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-focused Medical Records Coordinator I to join our Medical Records Team!
The Medical Records Coordinator supports the clinic Medical Records function and is responsible for assuring that all clerical duties are accurately performed, including but not limited to: pulling medical records for other departments and/or individuals as requested; electronically filing medical records; preparing copies of medical records as requested; scanning medical records; ensuring that all requests for copies of medical records are authorized and approved for issuance;
reviewing the medical record for completeness; facilitating obtaining necessary signatures from physicians and practitioners to complete the record; filing correspondence and other documents in medical records accurately; assisting in mailing correspondence from the business office. This position will also work closely with other departments as needed to ensure the patient’s chart and information is complete to receive treatment. Projects a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining confidentiality of patients, coworkers, and the hospital.
Requires excellent customer service skills and communication skills. Works under stress and in situations that demand patience and tact while providing impeccable service.
Preferred Experience
- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own growth and advancements.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated computer skills in utilizing Microsoft Office, integrated database, and other functions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
- Two years clerical experience required.
