Northwest Specialty Hospital seeks a compassionate, patient-oriented Triage Coordinator (CMA) to join the Axis Spine team. The role involves phone triage, clinical decision-making, scheduling, and documentation, supporting clinic operations.
Essential Functions- Assess patients over the phone.
- Medically assess patient needs and make clinical decisions on next steps in their care.
- Work with the medical team and providers to access patients.
- Create proper triage documentation in chart.
- Room patients as needed.
- Educate patients on medications, special diets, and other physician-ordered instructions.
- Take patient information and medical histories.
- Update patient information as needed.
- Maintain confidential and HIPAA‑secure environment.
- Assist with Certified Medical Assistant duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience
- Eligibility for employment in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Knowledge of cleaning standards and ability to perform according to them.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10 codes and medical terminology preferred.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with active certification from AAMA, NCCT, or NHA, or an active Idaho Licensed Practical Nursing License.
- At least 1 year of experience as CMA or LPN required.
