Position: TRIAGE COORDINATOR - AXIS SPINE CENTER

Northwest Specialty Hospital seeks a compassionate, patient-oriented Triage Coordinator (CMA) to join the Axis Spine team. The role involves phone triage, clinical decision-making, scheduling, and documentation, supporting clinic operations.

Essential Functions
  • Assess patients over the phone.
  • Medically assess patient needs and make clinical decisions on next steps in their care.
  • Work with the medical team and providers to access patients.
  • Create proper triage documentation in chart.
  • Room patients as needed.
  • Educate patients on medications, special diets, and other physician-ordered instructions.
  • Take patient information and medical histories.
  • Update patient information as needed.
  • Maintain confidential and HIPAA‑secure environment.
  • Assist with Certified Medical Assistant duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and

Preferred Experience
  • Eligibility for employment in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards and ability to perform according to them.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10 codes and medical terminology preferred.
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with active certification from AAMA, NCCT, or NHA, or an active Idaho Licensed Practical Nursing License.
  • At least 1 year of experience as CMA or LPN required.
