Summary/Objectives: Manages the Human Resources functions including but not limited to, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training and employee services. All of these activities are completed by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned) :

  • Facilitates Recruiting activities including job postings, sourcing methods, resume reviews, interviews and candidate selection.
  • Perform Onboarding activities for direct hires including pre-hire paperwork, background screening, HRIS entries, orientation, and benefit enrollment.
  • Consults with Management/Supervisors/Team Leads regarding Employee Relations issues which may include counseling, disciplinary actions, terminations, promotions, transfers and other personnel actions. Process and communicate actions. Act as intermediary and employee advocate.
  • Administer and communicate company benefits. Consult with designated benefit consultant and benefit carrier representatives. Coordinate open enrollment. Perform benefit and payroll related record keeping.
  • Develop and communicate company policies/procedures in consultation with company owners/management team.
  • Develop and administer compensation plan. Analyze wage and salary reports/data to determine competitive compensation plan.
  • Partner with supervisors/managers to develop/deliver training and maintain accurate records of all training activities.
  • Develop and maintain a HRIS system that meets legal requirements and company information needs.
  • Respond to all unemployment notices/claims.
  • Responsible for FMLA communication and processing.
  • Maintain and submit Worker’s Compensation claims/reports.
  • Maintain records/reporting on Affordable Care Act (ACA), EEO, OSHA and WC Reporting.
  • Coordinate temporary staffing needs with production areas and maintain relationships with staffing agencies.
  • Maintain and administer performance review system.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions.
  • Directly supervise Human Resources Coordinator.
  • Perform customer service functions by responding to management and employee requests.
  • Work closely with Safety Coordinate to administer Safety

    U and other safety initiatives.
  • Perform HR Audits.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality at assigned work location.

Education and/or Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Human Resources laws, regulations and how they are applied in a practical situation.

Preferred:

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
