Job Type: Full Time, Onsite
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, Swing Shift, with limited after hours and weekends as required
Starting Wage: $18.50 - $27.30, depending on experience, plus $1.25 shift differential
Farwest Steel's Operations Department seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as a Warehouse Person. The role includes safely accurate order fulfillment, loading and unloading trucks and rail cars, assisting machine operators, operating equipment to service customer needs and add value to sales, and assisting sales with warehouse and inventory information.
All applicants are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check and must be eligible to legally work in the US.
Key Responsibilities- Pull material, fill orders, and prepare material for delivery, with a focus on safety while enhancing customer satisfaction through accuracy and product quality.
- Move material from trucks and railcars, restock racks using Farwest procedures and equipment, track material and heat numbers for certification, and rotate material to keep it accessible.
- Assist machine operators, prepare parts for packaging and delivery per customer requirements, operate all warehouse machines, and drive truck around bays.
- Perform maintenance and safety duties, including attending safety and production meetings and monitoring tools and equipment to ensure safe operation and minimal downtime.
- Assist customers by filling and loading their material professionally, and support sales staff with warehouse and inventory questions and issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent (optional).
- Basic understanding of warehouse functions and equipment operation.
- Effective oral and written communication in English.
- Ability to work in a team environment and treat employees and customers with respect, courtesy and tact.
- Perform routine office support, understand written and oral instruction, and make mathematical calculations.
