ALK Source Materials, Inc., a leading manufacturer of quality allergenic biological source materials, and a member of the global ALK-Abello’ group of companies, is recruiting for our open Dissection Technician position. This position is seasonal running from September through June, with summers off and restarting the following September of each year. The work schedule coincides with the school year schedule. This is a part time position, 25-33 hours/week (6.5 hour shifts) that will also accommodate the normal school day schedule.

The Dissection Technician is responsible for performing manual dissection of venom sacs from deceased stinging insects using forceps and completing control paperwork with minimal errors. The position also collects and distributes equipment and supplies used in the venom dissection processes. Dissection Technicians are also responsible for maintaining all equipment, tools, and supplies used in the dissection process. The position also assists with the daily cleaning of production area and equipment.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, no experience necessary. Demonstration of excellent communication, facilitation skills and teamwork are a must.

All positions at ASM require the ability to comfortably and safely work around insect venoms, allergens, hazardous chemicals, solvents and other laboratory reagents.
