Job Details
Position:
Full Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) at William G. Griffin Medical Oncology Center, Oneida, NY. The center features 12 exam rooms and a 12‑chair infusion floor, led by an experienced team that includes one board‑certified physician and two Nurse Practitioners. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter who can “hit the ground running” as this practice is positioned for growth. The role is Monday through Friday (40 hours), with consult‑only call responsibilities for two weeks every eight weeks.
Additional compensation is provided for on‑call duties. The average number of patients per day is eight to eleven.
- Salary: $115,000 – $145,000 per year, based on experience.

- Assess and establish a presumptive diagnosis and implement treatment plans.
- Make accurate and complete entries into the electronic medical record (OncoEMR).
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing and consults as appropriate, and prescribe appropriate medical therapy utilizing evidence‑based practice.
- Prescribe, adjust, or discontinue medications or therapies as appropriate.
- Evaluate and report to the physician any circumstances or test results that present a significant risk to the patient’s health or well‑being.
- Perform procedures within the scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner license.
- Communicate appropriate information to physicians, patients, PCP, and referring staff.
- Instill confidence in patients by acting as their advocate, providing safe, ethical care, and health education to the patient and family.
- Provide an exceptional experience for our patients.
- Education:
Master of Science in Nursing. - License:
New York Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority. - Experience:
Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting (ICU/IM/ED/Hospitalist) or two years of nurse practitioner experience (oncology experience preferred). - Certification:
Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) preferred.
