Patient Registrar – Post Falls Urgent Care Team

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail‑oriented, customer service‑focused Patient Registrar. This position will likely be one shift a week with a rotating schedule that includes weekends (weekend hours qualify for a $2.50 differential per hour). Candidates should have a professional demeanor, the ability to work well under stress, provide great customer service to patients, and multitask effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Perform registration and pre‑registration functions to ensure the smooth transition of patients through required services.
• Prepare pre‑registration packets for each procedure.
• Obtain copies of appropriate documentation to facilitate billing and collections.
• Process co‑payments and other payments.
• Register patients and update medical records.
• Back up all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
• Perform nightly closing procedures for the clinic.
• Call patients for pre‑registration notifications, including copays and deductibles.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service background.
• Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred.
