Patient Registrar – Post Falls Urgent Care Team
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail‑oriented, customer service‑focused Patient Registrar. This position will likely be one shift a week with a rotating schedule that includes weekends (weekend hours qualify for a $2.50 differential per hour). Candidates should have a professional demeanor, the ability to work well under stress, provide great customer service to patients, and multitask effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Perform registration and pre‑registration functions to ensure the smooth transition of patients through required services.
- Prepare pre‑registration packets for each procedure.
- Obtain copies of appropriate documentation to facilitate billing and collections.
- Process co‑payments and other payments.
- Register patients and update medical records.
- Back up all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
- Perform nightly closing procedures for the clinic.
- Call patients for pre‑registration notifications, including copays and deductibles.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service background.
- Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred.
