The Security Guard is a full-time, on-site role located in Post Falls, position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by conducting regular patrols of hospital premises, monitoring entrances and exits, and responding promptly to security incidents or alarms. The Security Guard will verify authorized access to restricted areas, support personnel safety, and document all security-related events in accordance with hospital policies.
Daily tasks also include providing courteous assistance to visitors, giving directions, and coordinating with clinical and administrative teams to support emergency procedures and compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises to maintain safety and security.
- Monitor entrances and exits and verify authorized access to restricted areas.
- Respond promptly to security incidents or alarms and document events in accordance with hospital policies.
- Provide courteous assistance to visitors, give directions, and coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to support emergency procedures and safety compliance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service abilities to interact professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Experience or training in physical security, including patrolling facilities, monitoring access points, and incident response.
- Knowledge of personnel security and private security practices to help protect individuals and hospital property.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and follow established security and emergency protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
- Capacity to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods; ability to lift or assist as needed in emergency situations.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Background check and any required state or local security licensing or certifications, or eligibility to obtain them.
