We're Georgetown Hill Early School, and we're growing — which means we need more nurturing, energetic, endlessly patient humans to join our teaching team. Whether you're ready to lead your own Twos or PreK classroom, or looking to grow alongside a lead teacher,
we'd love to meet you!
We're a local non-profit preschool with a big mission: bring teachers, children, and families together to create an early childhood experience that's second to none. We've been doing this in Maryland since 1980 ( see our story here ) — so we know a thing or two about what makes a classroom feel like home.
Why You'll Love It HereWe take care of the people who take care of our kids. Expect a positive, team-first environment where your voice actually gets heard, your growth is genuinely encouraged, and your impact doesn't go unnoticed.
Benefits include:
- Paid planning time
- 401(k) with employer match
- Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligible employer
- Real opportunities for professional growth
We're proud to be an equal-opportunity employer that builds a team from every kind of background, perspective, and experience — because that's what makes our classrooms (and our staff room) better.
The Role s -You're the heartbeat of the classroom. You'll design engaging days using our P.L.A.N. curriculum, build real relationships with your students, and set the tone for a safe, joyful, well-run room — whether you're guiding curious Twos through their first big discoveries or getting PreK students ready for kindergarten.
What you'll do:
- Plan and lead daily activities using our P.L.A.N. curriculum, tailored to Twos or PreK age groups
- Build strong, trusting bonds with students and their families
- Own classroom management — creating a consistent, positive environment for kids and staff alike
- Support each child's physical, social-emotional, and developmental growth
- Communicate clearly and warmly with families, colleagues, and your community
You'll bring:
- 3–5 years of relevant classroom experience
- A bachelor's degree is required (preferably in the field of education). You may also need an MSDE 90hr Preschool Certificate or CDA Certification with Preschool Endorsement (minimum)
- Solid grasp of child development principles and instructional strategies
- Working knowledge
