EU Design Consulting, a locally owned boutique firm specializing in structural engineering, heavy civil construction and design/program/construction management for complex projects is seeking a Mid-Level Project Structural Engineer to provide expertise on general Structural Engineering projects of various sizes. The successful candidate will have experience in structural lumber projects, structural steel and concrete construction. Experience with complex infrastructure projects including underground and bridge rehabilitation a plus.
EssentialDuties
- Apply engineering principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments.
- Perform civil, geotechnical and structural engineering calculations and analysis using hand and computer-based tools.
- Assist in preparation of technical reports including written reports, preparation of tables, figures, drawings and instructing staff in final report production.
- Prepare details, mark-up drawings and plans, coordinate with CAD designers and other engineers in management of successful projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with structural engineering concentration.
- Master of Science in civil/geotechnical or structural engineering preferred.
- 2-6 years of structural engineering experience
- EIT (Engineering in Training) certification
- Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure within 1-year of hire
- Familiar with design standards including ASCE 7, ACI 318, NDS, AISC 360 and ACI 350.
- Finite element familiarity/proficiency with commercial software packages i.e. SAP
2000, Risa, RAM, STAAD Pro. - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- AutoCAD familiarity preferred.
