Job OverviewThe role of the Order Picker/Packer involves carrying out various warehouse system activities to maintain accurate documentation of inbound and outbound goods. The Clerk is responsible for overseeing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, and providing proper dock management. Additionally, the Clerk must communicate effectively with warehouse management, other departments, and business partners while accurately maintaining logs, records, and reports.
Duties & Responsibilities- Process inbound and outbound loads, including Stock Transport Orders, purchase orders, customer shipments, and deposit loads, to improve inventory management.
- Timely review, modification, and finalization of reports pertaining to inbound/outbound logistics, dock maintenance, product availability, and yard upkeep.
- Cooperate with warehouse management, various departments, and external associates to foster efficiency, validate accuracy of shipments, administer appointment scheduling, and allocate resources.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely reports to management as necessary, highlighting any issues or areas of concern.
- Complete additional tasks requested by management, including pallet construction, to guarantee security and cleanliness of the warehouse and work area.
- Perform other tasks as instructed.
- Use fundamental PC applications such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Operate in a high‑speed environment while carrying and raising objects that weigh 30 to 75 pounds.
- Work effectively in noisy environments with no climate control.
- Display strong leadership potential, self‑motivation, and ability to rally others toward common goals.
- Adapt schedules to suit the needs of the business and work in unison with a team.
- Comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, methods, and processes.
- Capability to use fundamental PC applications like Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
- Ability to coordinate and organize warehouse operations.
- Ability to modify to different work area needs and meet minimum job expectations of each task.
- Skill in interpreting instructions displayed on a computer screen.
- Distinguishing subtle differences in offerings.
- Adaptability to varying temperatures (extremely hot summers, biting cold winters).
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to three years of on‑the‑job training.
- Certification for operating a Pallet Jack within the first four weeks, under the category of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
