Position Summary
Elementary Music Teacher – Elementary School Teaching/Music (Instrumental)
Classified as Professional Staff, reports to Building Principal, located district wide, salary negotiated with Roberts Education Association. FLSA Status:
Exempt.
Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons meeting the needs of students in the elementary band/general music program and create a class environment conducive to learning and personal growth. Establish effective rapport with students, parents, staff, and community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans to meet individual student needs.
- Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians by conferences, notes, phone calls, email, and newsletters.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere; identify pupil needs, make appropriate referrals, and participate in developing strategies for individual education plans.
- Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Create a functional and organized learning environment.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Pennsylvania Music Education K-12 Certification.
- Effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with students, peers, and parents.
- Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
- Apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; plan and implement lessons based on curriculum objectives and student needs and abilities.
- Well organized with good time management skills.
- Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Submit PA School Personnel Health form.
- Current Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 clearances.
- Salary and benefits according to the negotiated agreement between the Board of School Directors and the Roberts Education Association.
- Bachelor's Degree starting $60,250;
Master's Degree starting $65,900;
Final salary determined by education and experience. - According to the School District Policy Manual.
