About the Role
We are seeking a Municipal Engineer - Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Pottstown, PA office. You will be responsible for collaborating with a dedicated team of engineers and multidisciplinary services to provide technical and managerial direction and oversee the full scope of our municipal projects. As a key member of our team, you will also manage client relationships and develop new businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Lead municipal engineering projects, including road rehabilitation, stormwater management, subdivision and land development reviews, and utility design.
- Coordinate and manage capital improvement projects for public sector clients.
- Coordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and construction issues.
- Assist in preparing effective work plan proposals, establish project budgets and construction cost estimates.
- Monitor daily progress of projects through the full project life‑cycle to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Review and approve project shop drawings.
- Ensure preparation and review of all detailed engineering sketches, drawings, specifications, plans, reports, and technical documentation to support project deliverables, reviews, and client communication.
- Work with professional engineering consultants, governmental agencies, involved communities, and contractors in connection with the planning, design, and permitting of various types of infrastructure projects.
- Represent the firm at municipal planning, zoning, and land‑use board meetings.
- Communicate project goals and updates to stakeholders, including public officials and community members.
- Review and evaluate municipal development applications using knowledge of the municipal code of various municipalities.
- Attend project meetings with clients.
- Prepare and present monthly status reports for review by the clients.
Mentor, support and develop junior engineers. Provide technical skill development along with professional growth opportunities.
New Business DevelopmentEngage in marketing-related proposals and programs to maintain existing clients and to pursue and develop new clients and business opportunities.
Qualifications- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, PA PE required.
- CME, CFM, and/or PP a plus.
- 7+ years of progressive experience servicing private clients and/or managing infrastructure projects or designing land development projects.
- Experience working in site development strongly preferred.
- Experience in public testimony before land-use boards a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required; GIS and Hydroflow software experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to represent the firm in all related areas.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and develop team members and work effectively with external partners and stakeholders.
