Job Description
SummaryThe Environmental Health & Safety Analyst will partner with EHS team members, production leaders and cross-functional team leaders to improve workplace performance by assessing work environments, systems, processes, and procedures. This role works with other specialists and leaders in conducting tests and measuring hazards to help prevent harm to workers, property, the environment and the general public. In this role, one inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations.
The EHS Analyst will also promote an incident‑free workplace through identifying and mitigating EHS risk and implementing safety and environmental management systems in accordance with regulations, corporate compliance policies and standards.
- Assist in monitoring, preparing, implementing, updating, and maintaining company policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Apply EHS concepts and tools to the work environment in order to reduce and eliminate risks and maintain compliance with EHS regulations
- Conduct incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, reporting, and implement corrective actions. Responsible for creating, documenting, reporting, and presenting incident trending analysis
- Participate in EHS teams and programs, taking on leadership responsibilities during meetings and with committees
- Conduct workplace inspections for multiple facilities and document results on a daily, weekly, monthly, or otherwise scheduled routine
- Promote awareness activities, educational and guidance to workers to prevent accidents and illnesses through continuous campaigns
- Collaborate with other EHS team members, production managers, and other parties to implement procedures, plans, processes, best practices, and safety standards
- Develop and conduct technical training as needed or directed. Training is conducted both virtually and in person
- Participate in Gemba walks, Improvement Task Force activities, as well as lead safety committees as directed
- Responsible for incident investigations and root causes determination as well as assist in corrective action implementation. Ensure timely reporting and closure of tasks
- Assist with data trending and analysis, perform risk assessments and provide training to employees as needed. Perform EHS inspections at the sites, and track corrective action & preventive action findings to closure
- Test the workplace for environmental hazards such as exposure to chemical, dust hazards, and excessive noise
- Contribute to the development and execution of an EHS management system in support of the company’s programs and policies
- Lead EHS projects, programs, and initiatives as needed; may serve as a subject expert for multiple EHS initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety Sciences or related technical degree is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with federal, state, other regulations, and agencies (Cal OSHA, CUPA, CA Fire Code, etc.)
- Experience and proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and other office productivity tools
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, in order to drive company vehicles
- Knowledge of hazardous waste and chemical storage
- Knowledge of battery safety and storage
- Knowledge of general life fire safety
- Machine shop knowledge
- Current certification in DOT, Cal OSHA 30‑hour, Hazard Waste Management is preferred
- Knowledge and experience in ergonomics, ISO 14001 and 45001, DOT regulations, laser compliance, emergency management
- Demonstrates effective project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates competency in handling multiple priorities and use sound judgment
- Strong leadership skills are required to ensure progress and compliance with EHS programs in areas where this role does not directly report.…
