Overview
The Teller role is to ensure that members receive prompt, courteous, and accurate service. Reports to Branch Manager. Job type:
Part-time or Full-time (non-exempt).
- Process member transactions
- Manage cash drawer and cash from the vault
- Process mail and night drop transactions
- Actively cross-sell all credit union products and services to existing and potential members
- Assist members with payroll deductions, direct deposit and automatic withdrawal, address changes, stop payments and safe deposit boxes
- Maintain order in the teller area
- Strive to attain goals set by management
- Attend meetings, conferences, seminars and training courses related to areas of responsibility
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the Credit Union’s policies, procedures, programs, products and services related to assigned areas
- Learn current data processing system and general office procedures; perform duties such as typing, filing, computer input, answering the telephone and other duties as assigned
- Perform duties in compliance with policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors under rules by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FINCEN) and the state of Pennsylvania
The fully qualified candidate will have completed the equivalent of a high school education. Prior experience in a sales or financial environment is preferred. Computer skills are required. Interpersonal skills are necessary for communicating with members and employees. The candidate will be results-oriented and motivated. The candidate is also required to have intermediate mathematical skills (calculations involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
