Lead Saw Department Operator
$25 - $30 depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced Lead Saw Department Operator to oversee daily operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for leading the saw department, operating industrial saw equipment, ensuring accurate material cuts, and keeping production moving efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate has strong metal fabrication experience, understands technical drawings and measurements, and is comfortable taking a hands-on leadership role.

Job Details
What You'll Do
Coordinate and prioritize daily workflow for the saw department
Set up and operate industrial band saws and other cutting/fabrication equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
Measure and inspect completed cuts to ensure accuracy and quality
Use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision measuring equipment
Maintain accurate production counts and monitor raw material usage and inventory
Operate forklifts to safely transport steel, aluminum, copper, tubing, and other materials
Perform routine saw maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, blade changes, and basic troubleshooting
Train, assist, and provide direction to other department employees
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures
Help ensure materials are cut accurately and delivered to downstream fabrication processes on schedule
Qualifications
3–5+ years of industrial saw operation, metal fabrication, or related manufacturing experience
Previous lead, senior-level, or supervisory experience is preferred
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Proficient with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
Strong understanding of shop math, fractions, dimensions, and measurements
Forklift operating experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
Comfortable handling and moving heavy metal materials
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding work
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Schedule
Afternoon Shift 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
