Functions as a skilled-level technician who is able to turn truck chassis into working trucks by installing truck bodies, platforms, service bodies, cranes, snowplows, lift gates, salt spreaders, warning lights, hydraulic systems, etc.

• Build completed work trucks according to work instructions and prints
• Safely mount and connect mechanical and electrical equipment
• Assemble truck body parts and equipment by bolting, cutting, welding, drilling and other techniques for mounting and building equipment
• Work from blueprints and written specifications to meet customer specifications
• Understand electrical schematics and 12V circuits
• Inform and communicate suggestions and errors to relevant departments for continuous improvement of the installation process
• Responsible for testing installed parts prior to final inspection
• Responsible for verifying that all line items have been completed on the work order
• Perform safety and quality checks
• Keeps the shop area neat and clean
• Maintains and is accountable for all tools and manuals
• Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management
• Other tasks as assigned
