Job Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Installation Technician/Fitter is responsible for the installation of fire protection piping, sprinkler heads, valves, and related system components for commercial and industrial facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, and company standards.
  • Install fire protection piping, fittings, valves, hangers, and sprinkler devices.
  • Install tenant fit outs with hard drops and flex drops.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, materials used, and project progress.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Provide guidance, training, and verbal/written instruction to apprentices and less experienced team members.
  • Coordinate work activities with project supervisors, contractors, and other trades as required.
  • NFPA 200 psi hydrostatic testing.
  • Transport, carry, and operate tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications Required
  • Previous fire sprinkler installation experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to perform physical labor in various work environments, including climbing ladders and working at heights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred
  • NICET certification or other fire protection industry certifications.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
  • Experience reading construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentices.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crouch, climb, and work overhead for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in commercial construction and industrial environments.

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
