Position: Mobile Diesel Mechanic II 2pm to 12am $5,000 New Hire Bonus

Our fleet consists of 50+ nationwide service centers, each offering accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair. We support our fleet with a 24/7 call center and provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services to fleets anywhere, anytime.

DUTIES
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches and differentials.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, automotive air conditioning systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches and differentials.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
  • Identify problems and generate alternatives using sound judgment.
  • Independently manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation on the company‑issued service truck.
  • Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
  • Work with clients to assess their needs, provide assistance, and resolve issues.
  • Manage concurrent tasks and prioritize work activities and time allocations.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
  • Document work and upload photos of parts used and findings on Repair Orders using an iOS device and the TRAIT application.
  • Accurately complete DOT and other required forms in a timely manner.
  • Manage own daily schedule with a high degree of independence.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and meet Standard Repair Times.
  • Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed.
  • Communicate with management via email or phone for repair estimates, purchase orders, and findings.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Maintain company‑issued service truck and conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Candidates with a different combination of education or 5+ years of experience are also considered.
  • Possess and supply necessary hand tools for the job.
  • Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • Successfully complete a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background check and DOT physical (or acceptable medical card with >4 months validity). Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required. Must hold a valid state‑of‑residence driver’s license, obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.

  • ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
  • ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
  • ASE 608/609 certification
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Understand implications of new information for current and future problem‑solving.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor and repetitive tasks.
  • Communicate information succinctly and engage in effective two‑way communication.
  • Determine appropriate tools and equipment needed.
  • Accurately judge distances between objects.
  • Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions.
